True? True. And that should be what ppop -M is producing. Have you considered installing Perl from source into /usr/local and seeing if the problem goes away? Haven't you had other weird problems with Perl and PPR? Was it you who had warnings turning into fatal errors? By the way, one of my test systems is running RedHat 9 with perl-5.8.0-88.
