This sounds very strange.  Before we start devising wild theories, could
you double check this result, in the following manner:

1) make a simple text file of about 90 lines (1 page and a half)
2) print it on the queue that doesn't have -H transparent
3) report on the behavior
4) include answers to the unanswered questions below

For purposes of this experiment, page 1 is the first one to emerge from
the printer.

Please don't take offense that I find the report hard to believe.  If I
got those results, I would go back and double check myself.

The problem is that the PPD doesn't have a *DefaultResolution line.  It
doesn't matter unless you will be asking PPR to format TeX files.  If it
bugs you, add this to the PPD file:

*DefaultResolution: 600dpi

These questions are very important, particularly the second one.  You
see, it is possible that the job is failing and being restarted again
and again.  If it is, something should show up in the ppop alerts
output.
