Subject: PPR: HP 4500 problem
Hi,
A while ago I upgraded our ppr installation from 1.40b1 to 1.44. Since then
the HP Color LaserJet 4500 has printed an extra page after each job, with 2
paragraph marks or pilcrow signs (¶ in html) in the top left-hand corner.
The setup is as follows:
# ppad show l6colour
Printer name: l6colour
Comment: Level 6 HP Colour LaserJet 4500 PS printer
Department: Division of Biochemistry
Interface: tcpip
Address: "hpclj:9100"
Options: idle_status_interval=15
JobBreak: pjl
Feedback: yes
Codes: TBCP
Alert frequency: 5 (send alert every 5 errors)
Alert method: mail
Alert address: ppop
Flags: no no (banners discouraged, trailers discouraged)
Charge: none
PPDFile: HP Color LaserJet 4500
Bins:
OutputOrder: PPD
Default Filter Options: level=2 colour=True resolution=600 freevm=6701488
mfmode=ljfour
Switchset: -H keepinfile
The problem occurs printing from both PCs and Macs. The PPD file is the
mac version:
*PPD-Adobe: "4.3"
*% =================================
*% Adobe Systems PostScript(R) Printer Description File
*% Copyright 1993-97 Hewlett-Packard Company.
*% PPD Version for Apple Macintosh

I trapped a job (a colour jpeg) and the log read:
WARNING: Found "%%End" after copying 5 additional bytes
I have both the unprocessed infile and the processed job files if you would
like to see them.
Thanks,
Doug
