Subject: PPR: Setting up PPR queues with "foomatic-configure"
Oi,
I have implemented PPR support now in the "foomatic-configure" script of
the Foomatic package (http://www.linuxprinting.org/foomatic.html). This
allows to set up a queue for any supported printer in the database on
linuxprinting.org with a single command line. You download the CVS or
the daily snapshot (after 12:20am Boston time) and install it. Then you
can set up queues as described in the USAGE file (but with the "-s ppr"
option).
At least basic queues are created, no automatic paper tray selection and
bi-directional communication yet (but you can add these features by
some additional "ppad"/"ppop" commands). PPR is not auto-detected yet,
so always use the "-s ppr" option with "foomatic-configure".
Happy printing.
