PPR was origionally written for public printing here at Trinity
College. We have sometimes talked about running public printing this
way and I have added most of the features needed so that we can do it if
we ever want to. We are currently using some of these features to help
people send print jobs to our print shop. This application is helping
us to iron out the remaining bugs.

I believe that, from a technical point of view at least, PPR can do all
of the above except changing the duplex setting (which feature is
schedualed to be added soon). To make the queue hold new jobs, added
add "--hold" to its switchset. A WWW interface which could be run on
the "printer console" computer is available, though it might be better
to have more stripped-down version. However, cross-platform
authentication is still tricky to set up.
