From: "David S. Chappell" <David.Chappell@mail.trincoll.edu> Date: Wed, 23 Feb 2000 15:31:15 -0500 Subject: PPR: PPR 1.40 released I have released PPR 1.40. This is considered to be a stable release. All reported bugs have been fixed. It may be found at: http://ppr-dist.trincoll.edu/pub/ppr/ ftp://ppr-dist.trincoll.edu/pub/ppr/ The last stable release (1.32p1) was 22 months ago! It will not be that long before the next stable release. I expect to release 1.41 within a few months. The goal for that release is to break the fixup script into module so that RPM and Debian packages can be built more easily and to add automatic installation procedures for the WWW interface. I have posted an screenshot of the new alpha-level WWW interface on the PPR home page: <http://ppr.trincoll.edu/screenshots/> An off-topic note: Our fellow list member Damian Ivereigh of Cisco was interviewed in the January 31, 2000 issue of Info World. He talked about how Linux came to be accepted for business use at Cisco. ================================================================ David Chappell David.Chappell@Mail.Trincoll.Edu Computing Center PostMaster@Mail.Trincoll.Edu Trinity College (860) 297-2114 Hartford, Connecticut 06106
