I have not yet tried either LaserWriter 8.6 or Acrobat Reader 4.0 for Macintosh. However, there have been problems with Acroread 4.0 on other platforms. If you can save a copy of the PostScript output (perhaps by printing to disk) and send it to me, I can check for campatibility problems. I may have to updated the editps filter or do something like that. >Does the PPD have to be on the PPR spooler if the user has it setup in his >local machine? Also, I was able to print this PDF from Acrobat 3.0 on >another macintosh. You should generally use the same PPD file on both the client and the spooler. If you don't, some printer features, such as bin selection may not work. Of course, the file should have its line termination converted to the correct format for text files on each platform. Version 1.40 (beta 2 will be out soon) has a Perl script call ppd2macos which converts all of the PPD files to Macintosh line termination and stores them in a separate directory so you can share them with CAP or Netatalk. ******* Everyone: Please send me samples of files that won't print through PPR, but should. Just don't send anything confidential! ================================================================ David Chappell David.Chappell@Mail.Trincoll.Edu Computing Center PostMaster@Mail.Trincoll.Edu Trinity College (860) 297-2114 Hartford, Connecticut 06106
