The differences between PPD files distributed in packages for different platforms are generally minor things like line termination and the wording of translation strings. If you get different information in the Macintosh Chooser than either the PPD file is the wrong one or it contains an error. Of course, installable options, such as available RAM, may differ even with the correct PPD file. The message about mfmodes does not indicate a problem with the PPD file. It simply indicates that mfmodes.conf doesn't contain a Metafont mode setting for your printer. This may prevent TeX and DVI files from printing correctly. ================================================================ David Chappell David.Chappell@Mail.Trincoll.Edu Computing Center PostMaster@Mail.Trincoll.Edu Trinity College (860) 297-2114 Hartford, Connecticut 06106
