From: "Ufficio C.E.D." <info@sertosi.it> Date: Fri, 1 Oct 1999 15:47:10 +0200 Subject: PPR: HP problems I have successfully installed PPR v. 1.32 on my Linux 2.0.36 box and everything goes right for me except fo a couple of problems: 1) Sometimes when i try to spool to an HP2500CP plotter (postscript lev.3) , printing stops and i got a postscript error ; looking at it with "ppop log HP-2500-15" i have : WARNING: Requested medium is not listed in the media database %%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: estore ]%% %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%% 2) I got an Apple's LaserWriter 8500 with two folder named Standard (with A3 paper) and Lower (with A4 paper) ; the problem is that selecting "automatic" , Standard , or Lower folder the printer always choose the A4. I tried to automatically add bins as described in the http manual but nothing happens : the ppad show command shows: Printer name: testprint Comment: <none> Interface: atalk Address: "LaserWriter 8500:LaseWriter@SERVER" Options: JobBreak: signal Feedback: True Codes: UNKNOWN PPDFile: LaserWriter8500.ppd Flags: no no (banners discouraged, trailers discouraged) Bins: OutputOrder: ppd Charge: none Alert frequency: 0 (never send alerts) Alert method: none Alert address: none Default filter options: level=1 colour=False Switchset macro: none Can you help me solving these two problems ? Thanks bye Claudio Benedetti
